DAPA TMCCC Abilene, Texas – September 10, 2006

We had 4 DAPA racers (Marty Parker, Jennifer Green, Jessica Dudley, and Harold Baker) heating up the Abilene eighth mile strip with 3 of 4 racers winning plaques. All our cars were running a little slower and the “experts'” consensus was the higher altitude (thinner air) was the culprit. Jessica Dudley was second place in the Race of Champions, Marty Parker was a semi-final winner in King Muscle, and Jennifer Green took 1st place in Stock Muscle. Harold Baker was eliminated in the second round of Super Muscle with a break-out by .0046 seconds. I was eliminated in the second round in the Race of Champions. The Abilene track was very nice, covered grand stands, smoothly run operation, and friendly people. This track would be a welcome permanent replacement to Denton for future TMCCC races. DAPA race ‘crew’ members in attendance included HR Dudley, Lee Green, Joyce Baker, Paul Parker, and race dog, ‘B’ Baxter Green.
